‘Nikola’ when I’m in trouble, ‘Shepheard’ when I’m training, but you can call me Nik. I’m 19 years young, a book enthusiast and café nerd. I currently study Mass Communications at university and am in my second year. I live about a 5 minute walk from the beach and never go. Once upon a time, around 2006, I began one of the most fulfilling journeys a 9-year-old could ask for, as I dived head first into the Harry Potter series. From there, a monster was created. She couldn’t be stopped, flailing from one emotional trauma to the next as books began to pile up on her shelves.

 

Module 2.1: Avatar and Avatar Annotation

 

I have chosen the image of a coffee in a book to represent this blog as I feel it appropriately accommodates for the theme of what I write about; finding café’s to read in to create a reading experience. The sketch of the two items is very indie, I feel, which is the theme I am going for with the blog. An actual photograph would have been too heavy, so the transparent sketches just lightly add to the title and the website. I have also included a picture of myself on this Introductory page, as I feel it personalises the blog; people who can add a face to the writing feel more connected to what they are reading.
