On the hunt this week I found a small, dark restaurant; perfect! I found myself a little corner and sat down admiring the interior. Lured here by my friend Jase, I came in early as to sample the wares. (s/o; way to go Jase, I'm impressed!). The first thing I noticed when I walked in was the great barista setup - biggest synesso I've ever seen and 6 grinders on the counter. They were obviously set up as quite a busy place, and no wonder why. Even at 9am the place was buzzing with breakfast goers, take-away orders and little nerds like me backed into the corner with a good read; newspaper, magazine, kindle (bluh) or rich smelling book.
The Coffee here is the best I've had in Perth to date. Delicious, rich, aromatic and balanced. The service was great too; baristas here definitely known their stuff! I've always found baristas to be incredibly fascinating. It's like watching a magic show right in front of your eyes, and then hey presto! There's a present at the end. A great, smooth Doppio with mineral hints, or a Long Mac topped up; perfect temperature, silky froth, balanced notes, smooth and satisfying brew, wonderfully executed. La Even will not disappoint; Groovy interior, attentive staff and great atmosphere.

This weeks novel of choice on my hunt was the second instalment of the Summer Games by R.S. Grey; Out of Bounds. If you have read and enjoyed 'Settling the Score', the previous installment in this series, then I’m pretty sure you will love 'Out of Bounds' as well. This second installment in R.S. Grey’s newest sports romance series was simply wonderful. Intense (for the most part) and so very gripping from the first page, this second book in the series was hotter than I had anticipated. In fact, it was the hottest book I’ve read by this author so far. But here’s the thing, Rachel delivered more than a steamy sport romance. 'Out of Bounds' has a well-developed plot, engaging characters, witty banter and great interactions between the main and supportive characters. Needless to say, every aspect of the story was done really well.
“She was probably used to testing her maturity and newfound confidence around hesitant boys closer to her age, but the lesson to be learned was that unlike boys who are intimidated by feminine boldness, men like me are inflamed by it.” - The Summer Games; Out of Bounds
R.S. Grey is one of my new favorite authors. I chose her as my challenge to read all of her books this year and I'm so glad I did. She writes the best romance comedies, but with this new book Out of Bounds, she brought the steam factor. I enjoyed Settling the Score, but this one wins a 'gold medal' without a doubt.
